After five years of tireless effort by so many, and the generosity of countless supporters today was the day it became all worthwhile! Two girls with no mother or father were admitted to the Sarangkot Nestling Home. This is now their home, a place where they can regain their childhood, where they will be protected, cared for and given the chance of an education, healthcare and have real hope for their future life - welcome, may you find lasting happiness here.
Today we heard the wonderful news that two children have come to live in the Sarangkot Nestling Home! Little girls, seven and 10 years old, thank you to everyone who has helped to make this possible.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and hank you to everyone who has supported the Nestling Trust throughout the year - we are most grateful.
The Nestling Trust would like to thank most sincerely, all who made donations toTNT through the BigGive, to help us fund a Health Clinic in the village of Melung in Dolakha.
Our target figure was £10,200 but in fact we raised an amazing £18,118.75 during the campaign. We are overwhelmed everyone's generosity.
It means that as well as establishing a clinic at Melung, the Nestling Trust can now consider funding a further clinic in Preeti, an area of huge deprivation.
This area, high in the mountainous region of Ramechhap, has a population of 40,000 people. Many lost their homes during the earthquake and still live in corrugated iron temporary shelters. Snow falls between November and March, and the access road/tracks are cut off during monsoon time. There is no medical facility and a health clinic and birthing centre are desperately needed.
The Nestling Trust is able to help improve the health of families living in these remote villages of Nepal because of the wonderful kindness of people who encourage and support us – we are immensely grateful, thank you.
