The Clinics are now complete, and all are staffed by the Ministry of Health.

1/4/2014

TNT, working with SITARA (Social Transformation - Nepal),  a Nepalese NGO, opened the first Health clinic at Marbu, a village in the mountainous area of Dolakha. It provides basic healthcare including antenatal/postnatal care, immunisation, wound management, chronic and acute illness management, family planning and contraception, palliative care etc. A nurse visits people in their own homes who are unable to attend the clinic.
Health education is given high priority in the clinic, and local women are trained to share information in the community. The nurses liaise with the local Primary and Secondary schools to give health education as part of the curriculum.
This clinic serves a population of approximately 6000 people and was supported by TNT for five years. It is now funded totally by the Ministry of Health and TNT has received a Letter of Honour from the District Health Office in Dolakha, acknowledging the valuable contribution made to improve the health of villagers  by TNT
