On Saturday 18th April 2026, Nepal came to Market Lavington! An amazing celebration of the Nepali New Year! Guests were welcomed in the traditional way with silk scarves and treated to an evening of Nepalese cultural music, dancing and authentic Nepali cuisine. Overhead, was a sea of prayer flags - the hall, transformed with vibrant flowers, shrubs and trees.
It was a kaleidoscope of colour, with many young people in traditional dress representing the various village areas in Nepal, from where their families originate, and the dancing was enchanting.
The Nestling Trust would like to thank, most sincerely, all those who helped in any way to make the evening such a spectacular event. Special thanks to the young Nepali presenters, all the wonderful dancers and volunteers, the catering staff for preparing delicious food, the hard-working bar staff, Superior Plants who provided the shrubs and trees and Waitrose of Melksham who donated the flowers.
Finally, huge thanks to all those who came along to the evening; without you, the event could not have happened, and The Nestling Trust is immensely grateful to you for your support - thank you!.
