- We are excited to say The Nestling Trust has been selected to to participate in the 2019 BigGive Christmas Challenge. The BigGive is the largest matchfunding platform in the UK.
Our project this year is the The Preeti birthing and health centre project will bring maternity services, health care and health education to very isolated village communities (30,000 people) in Preeti and surrounding villages in the Ramechap region of rural Nepal.
For the first time poor and disadvantaged families will be able to access local safe and hygienic birthing facilities, ante and post-natal care, and general health care - including immunisation, wound care, treatment of acute illnesses, and contraception
Health education, vital in reducing neonatal death rate and preventable illness, will be a key element of the project. Local nursing auxiliaries will be trained to work in the community and schools. The new facilities will be built in partnership with local non-governmental organisations and in line with Nepalese Ministry of Health requirements.
This year our Big Give target, to complete the first stage of the project, is £20,000
Donations to our project will be matched for 7 days from 12 noon on Tuesday 3rd December '19, to midday on Monday 10th December '19.
Please add a note to your diary - we need your help to make this project happen!
So ….. One donation, twice the impact!
A donation of £5 will be doubled to £10 and could buy a stethoscope and blood pressure monitor. Give £10 and it will be doubled to £20 to provide a drip stand, a fully stocked first aid bag, or a stretcher. £30 when doubled would cover the salary of a trained nurse for a month. With £100, doubled to £200, the trust could pay for the nurse for over 3 months
