Thank you to everyone who supported our first fund raising event, the Nepalese Supper Evening on 23rd November ’13. It was a huge success with over £14,000 being raised towards the building of a home for destitute and abused children of Nepal. Our goal is also to provide health care in remote villages lacking in any medical facility.
The evening could not have happened without the army of willing helpers. From the cooking of unfamiliar recipes to the erecting and laying of tables whilst miles of prayer flags were swept skywards, everyone’s enthusiasm was tangible. So to those people and to all the people who came along that evening, and to those people who were not able to attend but have still supported us, I would like to say a very sincere thank you. The response has been overwhelming and we are immensely grateful. A strong link has been formed between the Himalayan community of Sarangkot, where the home will be built, and our own community here in Wiltshire.
