The walls and roof are built. When complete 12,000 people will have for the first time access to medical and birthing facilities near where they live. Without your help, this would not have been possible. Thank you all so much.
To everyone who has so generously donated to help build the Health and Birthing Centre in Baiteshwor Nepal - see the progress, and thank you!

Without your help, this would not have been possible. Thank you all so much. A huge thank you to all those who have helped achieve TNT’s June ’22 Jubilee Challenge! We've done it - our total is 5088.5miles. We have walked/jogged/cycled the 70 mils for every year of the Queen’s 70 year reign, throughout the month of June, that is 4,900 miles plus – AMAZING! Funds raised will help save lives in Nepal through bringing safe birthing and health facilities to 12,000 people in Marbu, Baiteshwor, a rural region of Nepal without maternity facilities. For more information or to donate see: https://thenestlingtrust.enthuse.com/cf/tnt-jubilee-challenge This is why so many people have joined the Challenge and put so much effort into Walking, Cycling or Jogging the 5088.5 miles in June.
We thank you so much! Two very special friends from the South Island NZ are spending their holiday cycling round and round Rarotonga Island to help reach our target mileage of 70 miles for every year of the Queen's reign. Last week they managed 192 miles to help save lives in Nepal - fantastic!
This week a great 1,743 miles covered so far by the TNT Team and supporters which brings us to the year 1977! The major event of this year was the Queens Silver Jubilee. Quite a coincidence that TNT's Jubilee Challenge should bring us to this date at the end of the second week. James Callaghan was Prime minister and Elvis Presley died. Rock band Queen's power ballad "We Are the Champions" was released.

In the new Health and Birthing Centre in Baiteshwor - due to be completed this June, £225 pays the salary of one nurse for one month. Baitshwor is a mountainous remote area where approximately 12,000 people will benefit from this medical facility. Previously women had to trek many miles across mountain tracks to the nearest birth centre, sometimes arriving too late. Fear of getting Covid in local towns has also meant that many women give birth in their villages, in unhygienic conditions. Most village homes are without running water, many have earth flooring, and most, have no heating. Funded by TNT and local government, the new Health Centre will be within easy reach of the Baiteswor population and, as well as providing antenatal, postnatal and birthing facilities, it will provide general health care and health education for villagers. Cost examples: £450 Salary for two nurses for one month £250 Delivery bed £100 Medicine cupboard £75 Oxygen cylinder £50 Privacy screens £20 Therma gun thermometer £10 Sterile suture and dressing packs |
