Sue Hamblin with women from Marbu village who, thanks to their Nestling Trust sponsored clinic, are happy they no longer have to trek miles for medical help.
Krishna was found through the Marbu Clinic, established in the remote Dolakha area by the Nestling Trust in 2014.
When found in 2015 he was unable to use his legs, arms or hands and could not talk. Referred to Kathmandu children’s hospital and SERC School for Children with Disabilities, he receives daily physio and speech therapy, funded by the Nestling Trust. He is now independent in walking, feeding, toileting and is learning to speak. He attends lessons and is learning to write and draw, knows Nepali and English alphabet and can count. Without the clinic at Marbu this child would have remained an outcast with no hope. Fantastic news! - the Nestling Trust has been selected as one of the Charities who will benefit from matchfunding by the Champions in the BigGive Christmas Challenge! For one week only - Mid-day on 27th November to Mid-day on 4th December '18 any donation made to the Nestling Trust will be doubled through the BigGive Champions! Please help us raise funds to establish a health clinic. Right now no health facility exists in this area. We propose establishing a health clinic in the remote village of Melung, in Dolakha, badly hit by the earthquake and where there is no medical care or health education. It will serve approximately 5000 people. The Nestling Trust has established four other clinics in remote areas of Nepal - Let's make it Five!
We are asking Businesses, Companies and Organisations to help us establish another clinic In Melung, a remote village in Dolakha, Nepal, population approx 4,573, and where there is no medical care facility.
How can we reach this goal? TNT hope to raise £10,000 through the BigGive Christmas Challenge. Go to our Fundraising Events section for more information about how pledges are matchfunded and can be doubled or even tripled through the BigGive Christmas Challenge. Pledges need to be made by 31/08/18. |
