Today Saraswoti and I met up with three of the five children we rescued five years ago. The seed that became the Nestling Trust was planted at that time.
We found the children living in abject conditions after they lost their father, and their mother died soon afterwards. Now the oldest boy Ram is 17yrs old and works as a rickshaw driver. The youngest Laxmi is 6yrs old and loves school. Her older sister Phulmya is now 8yrs and was at a Nepali dancing class. Her older brother Arjun is 10yrs and loves football, and their oldest sister Chandrika is 16yrs and doing well at school despite her late start. They are happily settled into a child focussed home, run by a Belgian doctor. We are immensely grateful to all the staff for their wonderful care.
