On Saturday 7th July '18 we held a Nearly New sale in West Lavington Village Hall. The goal was to raise money to pay for hospital fees for medical treatment of a family whose home burned to the ground in the Dolakha area of Nepal, fairly close to Marbu clinic. The mother jumped with her daughter Sita, from an upstairs window to save their lives but Sita suffered 40% burns and her mother severe burns and spinal injuries. Sita's father, undergoing treatment for a brain tumour, also suffered burns. Their home, constructed following the loss of their previous home during the earthquakes, had been completed just 13 days before.
We would like to thank everyone who supported the Nearly New Sale. An amazing sum of nearly £2000 was raised which included donations. Thank you to everyone involved, those who gave items so freely, those who worked so hard in setting up and running the event, those who made cakes and served teas and coffees and of course those who came along on the day, we are most grateful to you all.
